HELLO!

As you may know, I am studying abroad this semester at the University of Brighton.

So this means...

I am no longer at MCAD to organize Design Club.

Any takers? Design Club & YOU, Spring 2009?

Design Club = GIFT CENTRAL!

Plans for our Design Club project of the semester are underway! We have grand hopes of screenprinting wrapping paper patterns to sell at the 2008 MCAD Art Sale. The plan is for each Design Club member to design his/her own pattern (one or two colors) and attend a DESIGN CLUB DAY in the print shop (Oct/Nov) where we will help each other screenprint. The sheets of wrapping paper will be sold in variety packs at the Art Sale.

And if there's time, we'll also screenprint GIFT BAGS and GIFT TAGS.

Ted sent me this sweet link today for design inspiration if we decide to go ahead and print gift tags in addition to our beautiful wrapping paper! Looking good.

Thank you all for coming to today's kick-off meeting, it was really great to brainstorm our ideas for the semester.

Our plan to do a lot of studio visits in the Mpls / St. Paul area is really exciting. In response to this post, list some local studios that you want to visit!
